Every April, Grade 5 students from APIS Seoul visit the Hawaii campus for a weeklong cross-cultural exchange under the theme “Leave Your Mark.”
As part of this meaningful program, students engage in various collaborative activities with middle school Korean language learners in Hawaii. These include Korean language presentations followed by Q&A sessions, joint mural design projects inspired by APIS core values—Aspiration, Perseverance, Integrity, and Selflessness—and interactive cultural experiences such as Yut-no-ri (traditional board game), Mu-gung-hwa Flower Has Bloomed, Gong-gi (Korean jacks), and sampling Korean snacks like Han-gwa.
Together, students learn, create, and connect—leaving their mark through shared stories, values, and joyful memories.
