2024 Korean Speech – My Story
“What values can be learned from the life of the person I most respect?”
Keawe deeply respects people who are passionate and always give their best effort in everything they do. He himself embodies this trait, bringing enthusiasm and determination to whatever he undertakes. Particularly fond of sports, including basketball, Keawe leads his Korean language class with great passion, especially during games or when reviewing learned material. His approach exemplifies how he consistently brings his energetic spirit to all his activities.
열정- Aspiration
Keawe는 열정적인 사람을 가장 존경합니다. 그는 어떤 일을 하든지 항상 열정과 투지를 발휘합니다. 특히 스포츠, 농구를 좋아하는 그는 한국어 수업 시간에 게임을 하거나 배운 내용을 점검할 때 가장 큰 열정을 보이며 수업의 분위기를 이끕니다. Keawe의 이러한 태도는 그가 어떤 활동에도 최선을 다하는 열성적인 모습을 보여줍니다.
“How can we positively embody the ‘Ohana spirit’ in our lives?”
In the first semester of the Korean language class 2023-2024, students actively engaged in learning about the Korean language and culture, focusing on creative and collaborative activities. Building on the foundation of expressing their thoughts accurately and enriched in Korean, as well as reading and writing various words proficiently, students devoted ample time to contemplating ways to show love and assistance to family, friends, and neighbors. They crafted cards with Korean messages to convey support to neighbors suffering from the Maui fire, and they presented beautiful songs and rhythms at the Christmas concert, reflecting on the meaning of Christmas. By learning how to share and respect others’ opinions, students collaborated to create a stop-motion video, weaving a collective narrative. Through these enjoyable activities, students became familiar with the Korean language and culture, enhancing their collaborative and communicative abilities as learners.

Keawe emphasizes the importance of perseverance and kindness in creating a better environment.
