“What important values should we live by?”
As we continue to nurture the growth and development of our students at APIS, I am thrilled to share with you the evolution of a project that has become a cornerstone of our learning community – the annual mural project in Korean Class.
Last year, our K-12 students embarked on a journey to explore how they could make the world a better place,
and this year, we continued this meaningful exploration, posing significant questions to our students: “What important values should we live by?” and “Who are our role models and why?” Through these inquiries, we delved into APIS’s key values of Aspiration, Perseverance, Integrity, and Selflessness. Each student was tasked with interpreting what these values meant to them, expressing their insights through individual pieces of art for the mural. Furthermore, they linked these values to their own lives in speeches delivered in Korean, showcasing their understanding and personal connections to these themes.
The resulting display on the wall of Hib Hall Lanai, now enriched with contributions from both this year and last, stands as a testament to the creativity, thoughtfulness, and collective spirit of our students. Together, we are creating an environment that celebrates creativity, fosters deep reflection, and encourages our students to embody the values that will guide them throughout their lives.
